Your status shows whether you’re available to take calls, messages, or meetings; it helps other team members understand when you’re reachable and allows the system to route calls appropriately.

Status indicators

Your current status appears next to your name and contact card. Other users can see it when viewing contacts, messages, or call options.

  • Available – You are online and able to receive calls and messages.
  • Busy – You are online but may be on a call, in a meeting, or intentionally limiting interruptions.
  • Away – You are not actively using the app or have stepped away.
  • Offline – You are signed out or not connected.

View Your Status

Find your presence status indicator on your profile icon in the top right corner of the desktop and browser apps. Your presence status is automatically updated when you are on a call or log out of the net2phone Platform.

Example: Profile icon with green Available status presence.

Presence Status ≠ Call Handling

Your status helps indicate availability, but it does not automatically block or forward calls.

  • Calls can still ring your devices even if your status is set to Busy or Away.
  • Status does not replace Call Forwarding rules.
  • Status does not send callers directly to voicemail on its own.

If you need to change how calls are handled, use Call Forwarding or Call Options instead of relying on status alone.

Status vs. Call Forwarding (Important Difference)

Status is informational. Call Forwarding is behavioural.

  • Status tells people whether you appear available.
  • Call Forwarding controls where calls are routed.

If your status shows Away but Call Forwarding is off, calls will still ring your devices.

If Call Forwarding is enabled, calls follow your forwarding rules regardless of your status.
