Upload Personalized Hold Music

Learn how to enhance your caller's experience by uploading personalized hold music.

Hold music is the audio callers hear when you place them on hold. You can keep the system’s default music or upload a custom audio file. Personalized hold music helps callers recognize your brand and adds a more tailored experience.

Supported Upload Requirements

Your file must meet the following requirements:

  • Formats: .mp3, .m4a, .wav
  • Maximum file size: 20 MB
 

Access Personalized Hold Music Settings

To access your personal hold music from the net2phone browser app:

  1. Open Profile Settings from the right-side navigation.
    1. Click your profile icon in the top right corner. 
    2. Click your name under Profile Settings.
  2. Select Personalized Hold Music.
  3. Choose either Default Music on Hold or Custom Music on Hold.

Select Default Music on Hold to use the standard system-provided audio.
No additional steps are required.


How to Upload Custom Hold Music

Select Custom Music on Hold to upload your own audio file.

To upload your own audio from the net2phone browser app:

  1. Select Custom Music on Hold.
  2. Click Browse File or drag and drop your audio file into the upload window.
  3. Click Upload to apply your file.
    Success: Click the play icon to listen to your upload.

Why Use Custom Hold Music?

Many individuals and organizations prefer to set their own hold music for a personalized experience. You may want to:  

  • Match your company’s branding. 
  • Provide a more polished or professional caller experience. 
  • Use legally licensed music or company announcements. 
  • Offer seasonal or campaign-specific audio. 
 

Troubleshooting Personal Music on Hold 

If your upload doesn’t work:

  • Ensure the file meets format and size requirements.
  • Try shortening the audio length.
  • Check your network connection during upload.
  • Confirm that your company does not restrict custom audio.
