Single Sign-On (SSO) allows team members to sign in to Sync using their corporate credentials instead of a separate username and password.

Requirements and notes

Once configured, team members will sign in using their Google Workspace credentials.

  • You must be a Google Workspace administrator.
  • SSO must be configured by a net2phone administrator.
  • SSO is configured at the organization level by adding user identity provider (IdP) details.
  • SSO with Google setup uses SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language) authentication.

Step 1: Create a Custom SAML App in Google

You must be a Google Workspace admin to configure SAML apps.

  1. Sign in to admin.google.com using your Google admin account.
  2. Navigate to AppsSAML apps.
  1. Select Add app, then choose Add custom SAML app.
  1. Enter an app name (for example, net2phone).
  2. Optionally upload an app icon, then click Continue.

Step 2: Collect Google SAML Details

After creating the app, Google will display the following information:

  • SSO URL
  • Entity ID
  • Certificate
  1. Keep this information available. You will use it later when configuring net2phone SSO.
  2. Click Continue to proceed.

Step 3: Configure SAML Service Provider Details

You will need the information collected in step 2 to continue.

  1. Enter the following values when prompted:
    1. ACS URL
      https://auth.net2phone.com/saml/login/callback
    2. Entity ID
Enter a unique Entity ID of your choosing.
  2. Click Continue.
    No attribute mappings are required.
  3. Click Finish to complete app creation.

Step 4: Assign the SAML App to Users

Once the SAML app is created, assign it to users, groups, or organizational units as needed using the User Access controls in Google Admin.

Click the dropdown arrow on the right side of the User access section.

Step 5: Configure SSO in net2phone

Now that you've configured the SAML details, you can configure SSO within the net2phone Platform.

  1. Log in to the net2phone desktop or browser app with Admin credentials.
  2. Click your profile icon in the top right corner.
  3. Click Admin Settings from the left navigation menu.
You will be redirected to the Settings portal.
  4. Select the Single Sign On page from the right navigation menu.
  1. Enter the SSO URL from Google into the Login URL field.
  2. Enter the Entity ID from Google into the Entity ID field.
  3. Paste or upload the Public Certificate provided by Google.

Step 6: Test and Enable SSO

  1. Click Test Configuration.
  2. When prompted, select a Google account to authenticate.
  3. Confirm that the test completes successfully.
  4. Click Submit to save the configuration.

Quick Tips and Troubleshooting

Once enabled, users will sign in using their Google credentials.

  • Ensure the ACS URL is entered exactly as shown.
  • Confirm users are assigned to the Google SAML app.
  • Verify the certificate is current and not expired.
  • Use Test Configuration before enabling SSO for all users.
