Call forwarding sends incoming calls to another phone number when your net2phone Sync extension is unavailable or when forwarding is configured to bypass your desk phone.
⚠️ You need at least 1 forwarding number
Call forwarding will not work until at least one forwarding number has been added.
Access call forwarding settings
Call forwarding is in the Profile Settings section of the mobile app.
- Open the mobile app.
- Select your profile icon.
- Select Settings.
- Select Call Forwarding.
From this screen, you can enable call forwarding and choose how incoming calls are routed.
Enable or disable call forwarding
Use the Call Forwarding toggle at the top of the screen to turn forwarding on or off.
- Enabled – Calls may be forwarded according to the selected rule.
- Disabled – Calls ring only your assigned devices.
You can also dial *74 from the dialer to toggle call forwarding on or off.
Call forwarding options
Select one of the following forwarding behaviours depending on how you want calls handled.
- Off – Call forwarding is disabled. Incoming calls will ring only your assigned devices.
- No Answer – Calls are forwarded if your desk phone is not answered.
- Ring All – All configured desk phones and forwarding numbers ring simultaneously.
- Failover – Calls are forwarded only if your desk phones become unavailable or go offline.
- Forward Only – Sends all incoming calls directly to your forwarding numbers and does not ring your desk phone.
The forwarding option you select determines when calls are sent to your forwarding numbers instead of ringing your desk phone.
Configure forwarding destinations
The Forwarding Numbers & Desk Phones section allows you to control which devices receive calls and how they ring.
Desk Phones – If you have desk phones assigned to your extension, they will appear in this section. You can configure how long they ring before calls move to the next forwarding destination or voicemail.
Forwarding Numbers – Forwarding numbers are external phone numbers where calls can be routed. You can configure whether these numbers ring sequentially or simultaneously and adjust the ring duration for each number.
Add a call forwarding number
You must add at least one call forwarding number to enable call forwarding.
- Scroll down to the Forwarding Numbers & Desk Phones section.
- Select Forwarding Numbers.

- Select the Add Forwarding Number blue text.
- Enter the phone number you want calls forwarded to.

- Once entered, select the Add Phone Number button to save.
Choose how forwarding numbers ring
When multiple forwarding numbers are configured, you can choose how incoming calls are routed to those numbers.
Sequentially – Numbers ring one at a time in the order they appear in your forwarding list. If the first number does not answer, the system attempts the next number.
All at Once – All forwarding numbers ring at the same time. The call connects to whichever device answers first.
Adjust ring duration
If you select All at Once, you can choose how many rings occur before the call moves to voicemail or the next step in your call routing.
- Select All at Once.
- Select the ring count.
- Save your changes.
Pro Tip: Ring count
The ring count determines how long the system attempts to reach your forwarding numbers before the call moves to the next step, such as another number or voicemail.
- A higher ring count gives you more time to answer a call, which may increase the number of abandoned calls.
- A lower ring count gives you less time to answer a call, which may increase the number of missed calls.
Each ring is approximately 5 seconds.
Call screening and incoming call ID behaviour
Call screening notifies you that an incoming call is being forwarded through the system and allows you to decide whether to accept or decline the call.
When enabled, your forwarded device plays a short announcement that the call is being forwarded before the call connects, giving you the option to accept or decline the call.
Record the caller's name
When this option is enabled, callers are prompted to record their name before the call is forwarded. The recording is played to you before you decide whether to accept the call.
Understand the Incoming Call ID for mobile
When call forwarding is active, some carriers require forwarded calls to display your business number instead of the caller’s phone number.
The Incoming Call ID option allows you to control how caller information appears when calls are forwarded to another device. This behaviour is controlled by mobile carriers and may vary depending on the network receiving the forwarded call.
Mobile carrier call history
Depending on your mobile carrier, forwarded calls may appear in your call history as coming from your own business number instead of the original caller.
