You can assign a desk phone to your extension from your Profile settings. Once assigned, the desk phone will ring for incoming calls and can be used to place outbound calls using your extension.
Requirements and notes
Before you start, confirm you have the device information needed to complete the assignment.
- Your desk phone model (for example, Yealink T43U or T46U).
- The desk phone MAC address.
- The desk phone serial number.
You can usually find the MAC address and serial number on the back of the device or on the original packaging.
After you assign a deskphone
Once your desk phone is assigned, it becomes one of the devices that can place and receive calls for your extension.
- Incoming calls to your extension will ring on your assigned desk phone, unless call forwarding is configured.
- You can disable WebRTC calling if you do not want to make or receive calls from your computer.
- Outbound calls placed from the desk phone will use your extension and outbound caller ID settings.
- The Phone Rings setting controls how long the phone rings before the call moves to your next routing step.
How to assign a desk phone to yourself
Assign a desk phone from the Devices tab in your Profile settings.
- Click your profile icon in the top-right corner.
- Select Profile.
- Click Devices in the left navigation.
- Scroll to the Desk Phones section.

- Click Add Desk Phone.
- Choose the model you want to add.
Once the Add New Desk Phone window opens, enter the device details to complete the assignment to your extension.
- Use the device labels to enter the MAC address and serial number exactly as shown.
- From Phone Type, select your desk phone model.
- In Mac Address, enter the device MAC address using the same characters and separators shown on the label.
- In Serial Number, enter the device serial number.
- Click Save.
After you save, the phone appears under Desk Phones with a green checkmark when it is successfully assigned.

Remove a Desk Phone
If you no longer want a desk phone assigned to your extension, you can remove it from the Desk Phones list.
From the Devices tab of your Profile Settings,
- Under Desk Phones, locate the phone you want to remove.
- Click the trash icon.
- Confirm the removal.

After removal, the desk phone will stop ringing for your extension.
Quick Tips and Troubleshooting
If the phone does not come online after you assign it, these quick checks resolve most issues.
- Re-enter the MAC address and confirm every character matches the device label.
- Confirm the selected Phone Type matches the physical device model.
- Power-cycle the desk phone (unplug the power, wait a few seconds, then plug it back in).
