Learn how to reboot Yealink T3, T4, and T5 desk phones, as well as Yealink cordless (DECT) devices. Rebooting your device may be required after making configuration changes in the Sync Platform.
Reboot Yealink T3/T4/T5
Several portal configurations require you to reboot your device before changes take effect. You can reboot your Yealink desk phone using one of the methods below.
Internet disruption when using the PC Port
If your computer is connected to the PC Port on the back of your phone, your internet connection will temporarily disconnect during the reboot.
Option 1: Reboot from the Device Menu
Use this method if you have access to the phone screen and menus. To reboot the device directly from the on-screen menu:
- Press the Menu button.
- Select Status.
- Scroll down and select Reboot.
- Press Enter to confirm.

Option 2: Use the hardware key shortcut
Use this method for a quick reboot without navigating menus. To reboot the phone using a hardware key shortcut:
- Press and hold the X key.
Note: Some models (such as the T57W) require holding the * (star) key instead of the X key. - When prompted, select Reboot the phone.

Option 3: Power cycle the device
Use this method if the phone is frozen or unresponsive. To force a reboot:
- Unplug the device’s power cable.
- Wait 30–60 seconds.
- Plug the device back in.
Success: Your phone will restart and reconnect to the network. Any pending configuration changes will now take effect.
Reboot a Yealink Cordless (DECT) Phone
You can reboot your cordless device using either the handset menu or by power cycling the base unit.
Option 1: Reboot from the handset menu
To reboot a :
- Press OK.
- Select Settings.
- Select System Settings.
- Select Base Restart.
- Enter the handset PIN (default: 0000).
- Press the Done soft key.
Option 2: Power cycle the base unit
To reboot the base unit (all connected handsets will temporarily disconnect and automatically reconnect with updated configurations):
- Disconnect the Ethernet and power cables from the base unit.
- Wait 30–60 seconds.
- Reconnect the cables.
